Cancellation Policy

Last minute cancellations and no-shows are very disruptive for any medical practice. If you fail to cancel a scheduled appointment, we cannot use this time for another client, as a result, you will be billed for the entire cost of your missed appointment. A full session fee is charged for missed appointments or cancellations with less than a 24-hour notice unless it is due to illness or an emergency. A bill will be mailed directly to all clients who do not show up for, or cancel an appointment.

OR

If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment, and you have not notified me at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the treatment as booked.

Insurance Reimbursement

Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please check your coverage carefully by asking the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Ms. Garwood is an out-of-network mental health provider for some insurance companies; her office works with multiple insurance companies when clients have PPO’s and choose to see her as an out-of-network provider. Your option if this is the case, would be to pay out of pocket and submit receipt to your insurance company or your insurance can be billed directly.

Ms. Garwood is a participating provider with Medicare, Aetna, Humana, Integral Quality Care, Coventry, Harmony, ComPsych, Medicare, and Medicaid (Wellcare, Staywell, Magellan, Humana, Sunshine, and Health-ease, MHNet).
